Today is the start of your Quitober Challenge. By this stage you should have picked up your Quitober Pack from your respective university safety officer's office or had it posted to you.

For Quitober to work, we believe you really need to keep in touch with us through the month
i.e. let us and the Quitober community know how your going, and we will update our facebook and Twitter pages. We will only use your first name or Anon. if you request.

Please wear your Quitober lapel pin throughout Quitober to let other people know that you are participating and should not be enticed out for a smoke.

You can also keep track of the days by peeling off your Quitober daily stickers & sticking them where you like.

As part of the terms of this challenge all successful quitters' names will be listed on our website at the end of the event.

 

  Quit Smoking Tips

Tip 1 :

If you drink during Quitober, try to avoid getting drunk. Nicotine and alcohol have similar effects on the brain's 'pleasure pathways', but alcohol often lowers inhibitions, and because we usually drink and smoke together, there's a behavioral component to beware of as well. This is where your friends (if they are true friends) can really help out during tough moments. Eventually, you'll be able to adjust to drinking without smoking.
