Newsletter Day 14
Hi , Wednesday Oct 14, 2009

Wednesday, Day 14 of your Quitober Challenge.
The message today is to "work safer" & of course live safer. With what we now know about our health it is not unusual to see so many people out walking or riding a bike & watching what we eat in order to stay fit & healthy. Quitting smoking is just another part of this awareness of increasing our quality of life & hopefully longevity.Quitober Says:
Got some good feedback from Sue from UA below.
Has anyone had any support from their family or workmates? What do they think of you taking the Quitober Challenge & quitting?
Your Say
Sue from UA says:
"I look forward to the Newsletters, I think because they are positive and have some good ideas in them.
My stickers are gradually filling up the month of October calendar I have put on my office door. I think the tough time for me will be after October is over and no one really cares anymore. Then I will really be doing it for myself, by myself which is important but the campaign has been a great kick start. Thanks again."
Quitober reply: Wow!.. that is great to hear Sue, that might even keep me in my job!!.
Nicholas from UA says: I like the daily reminders I think they actually help … but I think everyone to their own.. Lucky No. 13… thanks ;-)
Quitober reply: Yeah when I run the event properly next year (hopefully) I will be able to tailor the system to suit the individual needs & desires.

Quit Smoking Tips
Tip 14 : *Tips supplied by Quitnet.com
Question Your Spending On Nicotine.
In spite of public health announcements and doctor's warnings, the thing that makes a majority of smokers want to quit is the rising cost of cigarettes. (expected to double
next year) One ex-smoker suggests 'thinking about money' as a motivation to quit smoking. For example, answer this question for yourself, "How many times have I decided to buy cigarettes instead of food?" Or, "How much money do I spend on cigarettes every week? What could I have done with that money instead? Have I had to pass up something that I really wanted because I couldn’t afford it?" If you quit smoking, you won't have to make these kinds of choices again; 'think of the money' you'll be able to spend on things you really want or need.More Links:
