How are you feeling after your first
week of being smoke free? Do you get any support
from your friends/partner/family? Or are you doing
it alone & focused?
Nicholas
from UA says: "So far so good… Still going
strong!! Bring on day
6!!"
Helen
from USQ says: "Just to let you know that I’m
hanging in there, doing one day at a time.
Most of the day is easy, because you can’t smoke
at work anyway. It’s the night time that
was always worst for me, so I’m now looking for
things to keep me busy. I up to tackling
the linen closet
tonight!
Katrya from UA:
"I wake up and all I want is a smoke and coffee.
I am hoping my brain can turn off because I
still have the urge to smoke
all day"
Quitober
replyed: "Katrya if
you want I can post you an Allen Carr book on
quitting that might help."
Katrya from UA: "That
would be fine. Every day seems to be getting
better. I have found that as I find the smell of
smoke disgusting my inclination to partake is
diminishing"
Quitober
replyed: "If
you are doing this cold turkey you may find an
NRT lozenger in the morning would help you over
this hurdle. You could start with a high dose
lozenger for about 1 week and then reduce down
to a smaller dose for a week and then not have
them in the morning and see how you go.
If
you don't want to use any NRT perhaps going for
a walk first thing in the morning - something
else to do."
